Foundations laid for 3 medical colleges in Jharkhand

Foundation stones has been laid on Thursday by Raghubar Das, Chief Minister of Jharkhand for three medical colleges in Palamau, Hazaribagh and Dumka. Terming the day as historic, the chief minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health Minister J P Nadda to help improve health facilities in the state. He said while the Centre is spending 60 per cent, the state's contribution is 40 per cent.


Das said that land for three more medical colleges at Bokaro, Chaibasa and Koderma have been identified and foundation will be laid soon when he was laying the foundation stone of the much awaited medical college in Palamu region, which will come up at Rs 292.7 crore on 12 acre of land. This is the first time after 45 years that foundation stone of any medical college has been laid in the region.
